Last VBS

We had our last Summer Bible Camp this morning.  After the regular sessions of games, snack, Bible lesson, and crafts were finished, Dr. Chuck gave the audience of sixty kids a bonus expression: Thumbs Up.  Afterward, the Go Fish Guys gave a final concert.  Among the dancers was Dr. Chuck, who wasn't quite ready to disappear.  He's currently hanging around the office area near the little whiteboard.

It has been an amazing two weeks.  Yesterday we went out for Ramen, where the small restaurant was playing contemporary Christian music.  It was quite a walk from the train station to our destination.  Fortunately, we took the bus on the way back, so we didn't have to walk as far.  On the bus, I met Matt, a Research Scientist for bug resistance who was from New Zealand (for Lord of the Rings fans reading this, his brother in law worked as a graphic technician for Peter Jackson on some of his films including LOTR and King Kong).  The train back to Honda was PACKED!

This was the first time that Honda Chapel had this kind of Summer Bible Camp.  Everyone seemed to be very pleased with it.  The kids asked us for our autographs both days we were here.  Some people have asked us to come back next year.  Tonight we are having American night for the Chapel's youth group.  Michiyo has asked me to read my testimony tonight.

If this is the last post on this blog, we'll see you all when we get back to the States.

Honda Chapel

Well, here we are at Honda Chapel. We had our first day of Summer Bible Camp. We had 55 kids in attendance. I would write further, but we have to go soon to eat real Ramen! More on the next blog.
