arigatou gozaimasu!

The title of our first blog means "thank you." Thank you for your prayers and support for this missions trip where we are teaching Japanese children the Bible as well as teaching them English. We had our first VBS session this morning. We are doing a modified version of "Go Fish Guys." The kids seemed to enjoy the songs and the activities. They also seemed to enjoy "Dr. Chuck's English Session" in which they learned the English phrase "Put 'er there," which is used during a friendly handshake. We hope that God will sprout the seeds that are being planted in this generation.

The voice you just heard (not really) in the background was Grace Dewalt complimenting my writing, then remembering that I was an English major in college. Wasn't that nice of her? Aside from being a writing critic, Grace is a member of the "Go Fish Girls" dance team, along with onii-san (big sister) Olivia and Emily King. Our Go Fish Guys are Kyle Trivits, onii-sama (big brother) Andrew, and Brennan Culp.

Pictures and, hopefully, a video will be uploaded later. Please keep reading our blog and, more importantly, please keep us in your prayers.

Your brothers and sisters in Christ,
The 2010 CEFC Short Term Missions Team in Japan
